Welcome to In the Groove, a brand-new YouTube series from Jazz Ireland, where we bring you closer to the artists shaping the vibrant Irish jazz scene.
We had a chance to visit Carole Nelson at her home in Carlow a few weeks ago ahead of her upcoming album release. Thanks so much to Carole for taking the time to chat with us!
Her latest trio album, ‘Through the Storm’, featuring a stellar rhythm section - Cormac O’Brien (double bass) and Dominic Mullan (drums) - will be released on October 9th with the tour kicking off the same day with a concert at The Cooler in Dublin.
During the interview, Carole spoke about how she got into jazz, coming up in London, moving to Ireland, the band and its formation, her compositional process and the upcoming release and tour.
During the interview, Rodrigo spoke about how he got into jazz, his studies in Ireland and abroad, his album 'Sounds of the Blue Book’ and its compositional process, the tour, the Irish scene, his upcoming plans and other projects.
