Jazz Ireland Launching Directory of Resources (Phase 1)

Jazz Ireland rolls out the first phase of a Directory of Resources for the Irish jazz community. The directory will provide the location and pertinent information for any venue, studio, organisation and school that has supported Irish Jazz. First and foremost, I would like to thank Jennifer McMahon for her dedication to this project, from the very beginning she was always on hand to help get this directory online.

Phase 1

The first phase of the directory will contain information for Arts Centres and Cultural Centres across Ireland as I feel there is a good chance that these locations will still remain open after Covid-19 and when live music returns to our stages and lives. The directory listings will have photos, contact information, descriptions, links, opening hours and you can even search on a map if you prefer.

Gentlemen and Gangsters headline Guinness Kinsale Jazz Fest 2018!

~ Exciting programme announced with over 100 free gigs ~

If you’re looking for a mix of jazz and coastal beauty over the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival weekend, then swing on down to the picturesque town of Kinsale!

The Guinness Kinsale Jazz ‘Fringe’ Festival has just announced an exciting line-up of more than 100 free gigs for the October bank holiday weekend, including Gentlemen & Gangsters, who will headline at various venues over the weekend. The popular seaside town serves up an extra helping of jazz over the weekend and plays a perfect compliment to the main festival jam packed with headline acts in Cork City Centre.

The Hot Box is a new radio show coming to you from www.jazzireland.ie, and presented by Donald Helme. The show focusses on setting the best of Irish jazz within the international language to which it belongs. The focus is on enjoyability, and will doubtless evolve as it goes on.

Donald Helme presented Jazz Alley on RTE Lyric fm from the station’s first week on air, each week for the following 17 years, when the show was axed, leaving a large gap in representation of jazz on the national airwaves.

what is jazz ireland

What is Jazz Ireland and what does it do?

Jazz Ireland is a brand new website for Irish Jazz. We want to provide a dedicated space where musicians, fans and venues can connect. The main function behind Jazz Ireland is to list every jazz event and venue in the country in one place.

  • Musicians can manage their own events, sell their CDs and find venues to perform in all around Ireland.
  • Fans can suggest events, tell us about venues and find events anywhere.
  • Business owners can advertise their venues in the directory and make themselves available to a larger audience.

Aside from all that we will promote the content on the site through Social Networks, Search Engine Optimisation, newsletter campaigns, the blog and the shop.
