Tommy Halferty, A Part of the Continuum Documentary Series 2025
This 11-part Documentary Series from Director / Producer Peter Moc will explore Tommy Halferty’s musical career through in-depth interviews, performance footage, and conversations with musicians who have shared the stage with him. Each episode will provide a unique perspective on his work, from his early influences to his most recent projects.

The final episode explores Tommy Halferty’s lifelong commitment to education—both in and beyond music. From 1969 to 2008, he taught English literature and classics at Coolmine Secondary School, while also beginning his journey as a jazz guitar instructor at Newpark School of Music in 1985.

Together with Mike McMullen, Conor and Ronan Guilfoyle, Tommy helped transform Newpark’s humble jazz programme into what is now a full-time degree course at Dublin City University. In 2002, his work earned him a guest lecture invitation at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Decades later, Tommy continues to inspire students with the same passion and drive that have defined his musical life.
