In 1984, Tommy Halferty was invited to perform with renowned American saxophonist Lee Konitz during his visit to Ireland. Their collaboration, though rooted in contrasting styles, proved transformative for Tommy—opening new creative doors and deepening his musical expression.
Not long after, Tommy travelled to Portugal, where he spent several months performing at the Hot Clube de Portugal. Immersed in a vibrant new scene, he broadened his musical horizons and forged connections that would shape his future work.
