Goliath Music NI presents… ‘Bossa Nova: Celebrating Brazilian Jazz’. Goliath Music NI is a Belfast based not-for-profit promoter of live Jazz & Blues gigs in Northern Ireland.

This project, developed specifically for Culture Night 2025 @culturenightbelfast, features the award-winning songwriter & vocalist Kristine Mills, known for her authentic but modern styling of the full spectrum of Brazilian music. Her mentor, the late great Oscar Castro Neves, helped her to develop her interpretation of Bossa Nova and Samba and present it to a world-wide audience.

Taking place in the intimate setting of the former Mount Carmel Monastery, Galway County Integration Team are delighted to bring prominent Community Choir Director, Róisín Mulliez to Culture Night 2025. As an established jazz vocalist, choir director and music educator operating out of Galway City, Róisín brings a rich mix of passion, experience and accessibility to her work. Helping participants to find their voice in a communal group setting, this workshop will allow attendees to embrace the joy of singing in an open and organic setting.

Guitarist Max Zaska brings his 6-piece band ZASKA to Monasterevin for his first home show. ZASKA has sold out the legendary upstairs at Ronnie Scott’s in London and shows at the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival and The Button Factory, Dublin. ZASKA’s high-energy live shows leave audiences buzzing with media describing performances as “masterful,” “incomparable,” and “joyous.”

Live Music will be provided by Jazz Token. Based in Baltinglass, they have been playing together for six years now. Bray International Jazz Festival returns for its fourth Culture Night to the lovely St. Saviour’s Church in Rathdrum to present ‘Ebb & Flow’; saxophonist Michael Buckley’s critically acclaimed quartet.

Ebb and Flow is a new and entirely original project from the Dublin bandleader and saxophonist, who is accompanied by three of the great players of contemporary Irish jazz: Greg Felton (piano), Barry Donohue (bass) and Shane O’Donovan (drums).

The group released their debut album to critical acclaim on the Livia Label in the Spring. The music is modern, tender, and exciting, featuring daring up-tempo post-bop tunes, beautiful ballads, and imaginative improvisation.

CHANGO Flamenco-Jazz Fusion is an exciting project with Fatima Lucia ( Flamenco dancer and vocals) from Andalusia, French-North African Alain Halimi (clarinet), Denis Mc Auliff ( Irish mandolin) and Spanish Flamenco guitarist Javier Mula. This collaboration merges from the lifelong musical experiences of these four artists, exploring innovation and fusion from a place of knowledge and respect for the traditions of their different backgrounds. A night of live music and dance.

Kevin Lawlor presents ‘Cluster Funk’

Cluster Funk led by renowned jazz drummer and educator Kevin Lawlor will perform jazz and groove music by artists including Thundercat, Norah Jones, Andre 3000, Mark Guliana, Erykah Badu, Jorja Smith, Terrace Blanchard, Robert Glasper and more… The band also use well known Hip Hop grooves with Jazz standards played over them as an alternative take on jazz fusion. Expect everything from Organ driven Funk to Ambient Jazz.
