ÄTSCH is a Dublin based quartet formed by german guitarist Matthias Winkler in 2016 while studying music in Ireland. By now ÄTSCH is an active part of Dublin´s instrumental music and Jazz scene. Aoife Doyle is originally from Bray, Co. Wicklow now living in Co. Clare. While she has been performing for many years, it was upon moving to the West Coast of Ireland that she found her songwriting voice. Aoife's first album of original songs 'Clouds' was released in 2017. This album was the culmination of extensive support from Music Network that included mentoring, artistic development, and touring. Along with her band, she was a featured guest on Carl Corcoran’s 'Blue Of The Shortest Night' on RTE Lyric FM in 2017 where they performed a set on live radio. Aoife has performed extensively in Ireland, playing many festivals, arts centres, and venues.

Aleka is a Romanian vocalist, cellist, composer and lyricist who draws influence from her home country, using folk melodies interspersed with jazz harmony and eastern rhythms as well as Debussy and Bella Bartok, inspired by her experience in the classical music world. The approach of the band may seem like it adheres to the traditional sentiments of a vocal jazz quartet however, it is influenced by a broad spectrum of styles from the roots of jazz to the contemporary reaches of pop music.

The repertoire for this album developed out of a project in partnership with Allen Smith, Jazz on the Terrace and supported by The Arts Council to explore and present the music of Alec Wilder culminating in a nationwide tour. My pianist and musical director, Johnny Taylor and I researched, selected and arranged our favourites from Wilder's rarely heard and rarely recorded work. People tend to know "i'll Be Around,' which became a jazz standard, and is on my debut album, but most of his tunes have remained in relative obscurity. We are very excited about what we've come up with. We hope you like it too!
