The Hot House Big Band, Ireland’s most exciting big band, is comprised of seventeen full time professional musicians and, since their launch in early 2010 they have been amazing their audiences with their skill and competence.
The Jazz Ambassadors tells the little-known story of when America deployed jazz legends like Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, and Benny Goodman, along with their mixed-race bands, to fight on the frontlines of the Cold War.
Lead by Boye PapaGee, Colours Afrobeat is an 11-piece, original afrobeat band, made up of musicians based in Dublin from around the world. ‘Boye PapaGee & Colours Afrobeat has shared the stage with the Grammy Award-winning American Hip-hop trio ‘Naughty by Nature’, the legendary Ghanaian guitarist, composer, arranger, bandleader and producer Ebo-Taylor to mention a few.
Cork born Cormac McCarthy is one of the brightest lights in the Irish piano scene right now. Since his return from the U. S. where he enjoyed a hugely prolific recording and touring schedule, he has flown the flag for home grown top quality jazz composition and performance. With his trio featuring Eoin Walsh on bass and drummer Dominic Mullan, he presents a fabulous programme of highly original compositions and the occasional standard.

Commissioned by Galway Jazz Festival, it is an exploration of our heritage and culture, taking traditional Conamara sean nós as inspiration for daring new compositions and improvisation.
