Grant Greens Idle Moments album played in full

In a night dedicated to influential jazz guitarist Grant Green, the Eric Doyle Sextet performs the landmark album Idle Moments in full. Defined by the atmosphere of its title track, Idle Moments is a quintessential hard bop recording, featuring compositions by Green and his contemporaries.The group will perform the album in full, as well as other defining pieces from Green's early career, recreating the soulful, bluesy, swinging sound that made Green a favourite of musicians and listeners alike.

Red Line Jazz are a hard-swinging quartet of Dublin professionals playing a repitoire of hard-bop, post-bop, and contemporary jazz. The band changes it up every week, but the vibe stays the same; serious swing, serious sound!

Guitarist, composer, author, inventor, Mike Nielsen is a lecturer in jazz at the Technical University, Dublin. His three main research topics include, improvisation, rhythm and microtonality. His diverse performance experience ranges from Dixieland—Modern—Microtonality. His unique style is influenced by jazz, classical, flamenco, Irish and world music genres. Featured on 25 recordings, Mike’s most notable recordings are with Dave Liebman (Ex Miles Davis) with whom he has also toured with. As a solo performer he has opened for Elvin Jones and John McLaughlin.

BONE MACHINE are a band of internationally renowned touring and recording musicians that perform a rebrand, melancholic, and punk jazz set of Tom Wait songs. The band comprises Jack Healy on vocals and social strategy, Conor Brady on guitars and sonic sculpting, Julyo D’Agostino on bass and positive vibes and Des Harrington on drums and rhythmic karma, Dario Rodigherio on keys and spirituality.

Guitarist John Moriarty and saxophonist Richie Buckley lead a dynamic quartet on the first Saturday of every month at Walters, Dún Laoghaire.
