Tengu Jazz with Michael Buckley Quartet

Tengu Jazz is back this quarter! After four sold out shows in 2022 it’s definitely time to bring back this series. The fourth night welcomes special guests The Michael Buckley Quartet. Michael Buckley one of Ireland’s most renowned jazz musicians, he will be joined by some of Ireland’s leading players, pianist - Leopoldo Osio, bassist - Dave Redmond and drummer - Dylan Lynch draw on the jazz tradition, bringing a melodic and diverse set for this evening’s performance. Alba will be opening the night with an all vinyl set.

MOBO nominated drummer and composer David Lyttle has performed in almost 50 countries since emerging on the Irish jazz scene almost 20 years ago. He has collaborated with jazz icons from Joe Lovano to Kurt Rosenwinkel and his 11 diverse albums/EPs include appearances from Talib Kweli and Liam Neeson among others. He is the founder of NI youth music charity Jazzlife Alliance charity and its flagship national jazz programme Jazz Juniors, and recently performed for President Michael D. Higgins at Áras an Uachtaráin.

Howl Quartet - Night Song

Howl Quartet is an award winning UK based project whose dynamic, expressive music focuses heavily on storytelling through melodic composition and improvisation. Following the successes of their first two releases, Howl Quartet’s third album, Night Song, is set for release in 2025. Formed of old friends and collaborators, this co-led acoustic quartet emerged in 2017 through a passion for developing a collective sound. Taking inspiration from artists such as Endangered Blood, The Bad Plus and Brian Blade & The Fellowship Band, there is an innate freedom and creative intensity to their music.

The 115 Spot Jazz Jam Session
