Koch Marshall Trio consists of American guitarist Greg Koch, his son Dylan Koch on drums, and Hammond B3 specialist Toby Lee Marshall. At the heart of this organ trio is a deep blues sensibility, but Greg’s compositions also draw on rock, funk, jazz and country, all delivered with heavy grooves, dynamic improvisation, a healthy dose of humour and occasional wild abandon.

Milwaukee native Greg Koch is a guitar player’s guitarist, widely respected for his blues-infused, stylistically diverse playing. Praised by Joe Bonamassa as “scary good” and by Guitar Player’s Tom Wheeler as “fiendishly talented”, Koch has released over 20 albums and built a global reputation through touring, education work, writing, and his hugely popular online videos. His playing blends American roots styles with fearless improvisation and a distinctive tone.
Dylan Koch brings explosive, musical drumming shaped by early jazz training and mentorship, while Toby Lee Marshall’s Hammond B3 provides the grit, basslines and firepower that complete the trio’s sound. Together, they deliver powerful live performances defined by interplay, groove and spontaneous invention. This is music that speaks equally to blues purists, jazz heads and guitar enthusiasts alike.

The Black Box is housed in a Grade II listed building on Hill Street in the Historical Cathedral Quarter of Belfast, originally constructed c. 1850 and converted into its current usage as an arts venue in 2006.
