Metropolis is a jazz fusion group founded in Dublin in the late 1970s. After packing several residencies for a couple of years, they took a forty year sabbatical before realising they enjoyed the music and each other’s company so much they wanted to do it again.

Kasia Eliasz and her energetic 9-piece band are back to take you on an exciting musical adventure through various Brazilian styles. Their performance will feature the diverse rhythms of Brazil, including capoeira, forró, samba, bossa nova, and frevo. These Brazilian beats, with roots in African traditions, are famous worldwide for their unique and lively sound. Samba, especially, is a highlight of the Brazilian Carnival, known for its catchy rhythms and festive feel.
Both renowned instrumentalists, Jeff Denson (USA) and Romain Pilon (France) met 20 years ago at the Berklee College of Music. Back then, they engaged in numerous jam sessions, sharing a common taste for adventure and a love for jazz without preconceived ideas. Since then, they have each pursued brilliant careers on their respective sides of the Atlantic, recording numerous albums as leaders and collaborating with some of the greatest jazz musicians in the world: Lee Konitz, Joe Lovano, Ben Wendel, Mike Stern, Jeff Ballard, Brian Blade, and more.
