Groovy Sunday Jazz Master Albums Series: Weather Report, "Birdland" and the Full Album “Heavy Weather”
In 1977, Weather Report released “Heavy Weather”, with Joe Zawinul’s iconic “Birdland” opening the set, Wayne Shorter’s lyrical ballad “A Remark You Made,” and Jaco Pastorius redefining what the electric bass could do on “Teen Town”. The record brought jazz to a wider audience without sacrificing its adventurous spirit.
