The Platform Series at Campbell's Tavern presents: Double Bill featuring hyperlynx (album launch) and Alannah Thornburgh

Hyperlynx is a Swiss/Irish collaboration between Laurent Meteau (CH – guitar), Philipp Schlotter (CH – rhodes/electronics) and Matthew Jacobson (IE – drums/synths).

They will release their debut album 'Rest Energy' on cassette in 2025 on Little Gem Records, a Dublin-based independent label founded in 2014 by Andy Walsh. The Irish release tour will kick off in early September, followed by a Swiss tour between November 24th to December 7th.

With a combined deep knowledge and experience playing this genre, each member also brings their own unique voice to the ensemble.Expect tunes from some of the most important composers from the fusion era, including John McLaughlin, Jan Hammer and Steve Grossman.

In January 1975, piano virtuoso Keith Jarrett played in Köln, Germany – a live recording of which became the best-selling solo jazz album of all time, with over four million sales worldwide. To celebrate The Köln Concert’s 50th anniversary, local keyboard maestro Scott Flanigan performs a piano tribute. As with Jarrett’s seminal performance, you can expect passionate improvisations inspired by the mood and the moment.

Following on from the success of their tour around James Joyce’s ‘Ulysses’, Janet Moran and Ronan Guilfoyle join forces again, this time to explore the intricacies of Joyce’s final novel ‘Finnegan’s Wake’. Janet is an award-winning actor and playwright, and Ronan is one of Ireland’s best-known jazz musicians, with an international career spanning more than forty years. ‘Earwicker’s Dream’ is a concert piece that unites spoken word, jazz composition and improvisation, and explores the central characters in the book.

Now approaching his 80th year, Tommy’s life is the subject of an 11-part documentary series from Director / Producer Peter Moc that explores his remarkable journey— from his early influences and formative encounters to his extensive career as a performer, composer, and educator.
