Leading lights in a fresh wave of Irish musicians exploring links between the ancient and the 21st century, Belfast’s Córas Trio are steeped in free improv, electronic music, and the city’s “seisiún” or session scene.
Comprising of Kevin McCullagh (fiddle, electronics), Paddy McKeown (guitar, electronics) and Conor McAuley (drums), the trio are part of a new creative wave of musicians based in Belfast exploring how traditional music relates to the experience of the 21st century. Irish traditional music taken to the outer reaches where the spirits of Schoenberg and Sun Ra play with Seán Ó Riada and Tommie Potts.
This Dublin performance see’s the launch of their highly anticipated debut album, ‘Córas Trio’.
The concert will be approximately 60-70 minutes without an interval

Venue Information - The Complex
The Complex is run by creative artists. It is the new Northside arts centre. Since February 2009 it has staged a rich programme of artistic and cultural productions, exhibitions and events in the Dublin 7 area. From our original home in Smithfield Square to Benburb Street, our new permanent premises is located at Little Green Street, next to the old Fruit and Vegetable Market.
The new arts centre features nine artist’s studios as well as two performance areas, rehearsal and exhibition space.
