Event Description

Launch of Dr. Linley Hamilton's new CD feat. American stars Adam Nussbaum on Drums and Mark Egan on Bass.

Over a week in May 2019, a lifetime ambition was fulfilled. Two of my all-time musical heroes, who I got to meet through Radio Interviews and the incredible Sligo Jazz Project, joined my two best friends and I in a four-gig Northern Irish tour and recording project.

Camden Recording Studios in Dublin came on board, engineer Conor Brady was booked and a plan that was one year in the making came together. The band was formed…

Joining me would be Adam Nussbaum drums and Mark Egan bass, both from USA, and Derek Doc O’Connor sax and Cian Boylan piano. Cian, as he did for my previous solo album with rhythm section and orchestra, ‘Making Other Arrangements’, would arrange the music to my vision and help me deliver my dream project…he didn’t let me down.

The compositions are almost entirely original and were generated with the specific musicians in mind. Right from the start there was a commitment to each other and a camaraderie that I hope will continue into the future.

The gigs gave us a chance to bond, a spirit that transferred over into the recording studio where we were pampered by our incredible engineer Conor Brady.

It would be hard not to recognise the positivity and generosity from two of the most incredible musicians and people we have ever met…Mark Egan and Adam Nussbaum. Thank you, guys.
