Mná Mná will present our selection of jazz standards, originals and other beloved classics in the Music Room of the Clew Bay Hotel, Westport
Mná Mná took shape after Fiona (voice) and Deirdre(saxophone) returned from Sligo Jazz Project 2023 and considered "why not start an all-female jazz band?"
By the time Sligo Jazz Project 2024 came around the band had extended to Dearbhla (double bass) and Michele (piano) and had performed a number of times in the home base of Westport, Co. Mayo.
Besides conveying our all-female status, 'Mná Mná' is a tip of the hat to the spirit and influence of one of our favourite musical inspirations - The Muppets!
Our repertoire reflects the music we love, songs we have (re)discovered and songs composed by band members Fiona and Dearbhla .
Our musical philosophy is to enjoy playing, stretch ourselves a little bit and create and share welcoming musical events.
We invite you to join us for an evening of music on Friday 7th August, upstairs in bridge street, Castlebar.
