Lavery emerges from the vibrant music scene of Dublin as an electrifying 8-piece collective. Formed in 2023, Lavery brings together seasoned musicians from diverse backgrounds, each contributing a unique flavour to their music, combining Jazz Fusion, Samba and Neo-Soul. With roots in acclaimed music performance colleges such as BIMM and DCU's Jazz Program (Newpark), Lavery's sound reflects a rich blend of cultural diversity and technical excellence.
Their rise has been nothing short of meteoric, gracing prestigious Irish venues like The National Gallery of Ireland, Whelan's, The Academy and The Sugar Club. Hungry to make their mark on the European scene, Lavery completed their first international tour at multiple UK and Ireland venues and festivals in June 2024. In the same year, they opened for Grammy award-winning artist Sly5thAve in April and R'n'B singer IAMDBB as part of her world tour in September, at the Academy. The band performed at the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival in October and the EFG London Jazz Festival in November of 2024.
Fronted by the captivating Anelise Furkin, Lavery's live performances are more than just music; they're immersive experiences that transcend traditional boundaries. Lavery's sound defies categorisation, promising a musical landscape that's as unpredictable as it is enthralling. Both their debut single, "The Mist" and their EP "Jade Garden" have already enjoyed significant success on the US JazzWeek chart. Jade Garden was met with overwhelmingly positive reviews and sat on the US JazzWeek charts for 9 weeks.
Jio is a Dublin-based, New York-born DJ and founder of the club night Supper (@supper.dub). A proud champion of the musical output and communities that emanate from the Irish capital, he pairs this with an ambitiously eclectic club persona who’s sets have soundtracked many a Dubliner’s weekend. His youthful roots in record collecting and teenage years spent behind the desk of All City Records in the Irish capital offers a keen digger's perspective to selections. His various transmissions for NTS Radio, Rinse FM, The Lot Radio, Phonica Records, N10.AS and lots more showcase this varied style best.
See you there!
