Event Description
Orlando Molina is a Venezuelan guitarist, composer, and bandleader based in Ireland
Following the releases of *Autorretrato en Tres Colores* (2025), voted Best Jazz Album in Ireland, and *Antes, Siempre* (2026), Orlando Molina presents an evening of original contemporary jazz with his quartet featuring Scott Flanigan (piano), Peter Erdei (bass), and Matthew Jacobson (drums).
The programme brings together music from "Autorretrato en Tres Colores" alongside new unreleased compositions. Rooted in contemporary jazz and enriched by the rhythmic vitality, melodic beauty, and expressive depth of Latin American musical traditions, Molina’s music combines sophisticated composition, lyrical storytelling, and adventurous improvisation
Performed by four of Ireland’s most accomplished jazz musicians, this concert showcases a body of work that balances compositional depth, rhythmic sophistication, and dynamic ensemble interplay. The result is music that is both deeply personal and internationally informed, shaped by contemporary jazz while drawing inspiration from the musical traditions of Latin America.
Expect lyrical melodies, rich harmonic landscapes, adventurous improvisation, and music that bridges contemporary jazz and Latin American traditions with elegance, depth, and energy.
