Event Description
Hailed as Ireland’s King of the Blues by the B.B.C., Nigel Mooney has been a leading light on Ireland’s jazz and blues scenes since the mid-1980’s. His Gripewater Blues Band spearheaded the Irish blues movement and he is long established as Ireland’s leading jazz singer and guitarist. Having opened for B.B. King, Hubert Sumlin, Bo Diddley, Rod Stewart and Meatloaf, Mooney has toured with ex-Art Blakey Messenger Jean Toussaint and guitarist Jim Mullen and has recorded with Georgie Fame, Louis Stewart and Lisa Stansfield.
On December 9th, Mooney brings his Christmas show to Dolan’s, featuring hymns, carols and standards to be played in the company of organist Scott Flanigan (ex-Van Morrison, Lionel Hampton) and Dominic Mullan (Mary Coughlan and Jacques Loussier) on drums.
