Event Description
Join us for a night of live jazz music and tasty tipples for September’s Dublin By Dusk.
Celebrating Dublin by Dusk, Irish Women in Jazz and Teeling Whiskey are coming together once again to bring you an evening of live jazz music with some of Dublin’s finest, paired with signature Teeling cocktails and drinks.
Following the success of our first collaboration for the Culture Date with Dublin 8 festival, we’re bringing back the band- with a new set of tunes! This time, featuring music from the ‘New Standards: 101 Lead Sheets by Women Composers’ book. We are also celebrating the open call for our own Irish Women in Jazz composers’ book, with thanks to the Irish Arts Council.
Don’t miss this one!
What to expect:
Arrive at Teeling and be greeted with a complimentary drink on arrival while being serenaded with the smooth sounds of jazz standards played by some of the scene’s finest musicians.
Begin the Teeling Distillery whiskey tour and be accompanied along the way by live music as you move into the distillery itself for some experimental and ambient sounds with synths and effects. Arrive at Bang Bang where the mainstage and bar area creates a jazz club vibe you simply haven’t experienced yet! Performing 'New Standards', a celebration of women composers in jazz, expect a variety of swinging jazz standards, smooth ballads, bebop and more.
Jennifer McMahon and Rufina Tishina will be leading the band and presenting some of their own material too, alongside Hugh Denman on drums, Eoin O’Halloran on double bass and Matthias Winkler on guitar. Sip some delicious drinks at the bar, shake a tail feather and enjoy the jam session after the main act, to keep the night going. If you’re a musician, bring your instrument along, we’ll be delighted to welcome you onstage!
