Event Description
Young and Not is a jazz sextet led by sisters Nina and Natasza, who, despite their youth sing with maturity and elegance. Supported by a lineup of accomplished jazz musicians, the group creates a warm, joyful atmosphere while honouring the timeless sound of classic jazz.
Their repertoire ranges from the American Songbook and Brazilian jazz standards to lesser-known gems, both vintage and contemporary. With natural sisterly chemistry, fresh energy, and seasoned musical support, Young and Not bring a distinctive new voice to the Irish jazz scene.
The band features James Fennell on piano, Donagh Kelly on double bass, Brian Kelehan on drums, and Jarek Dobrzanski on guitar. Together, these musicians—young and not—respect the tradition of jazz while adding an inventive, modern flair to the sound.
After premiering their set to enthusiastic audiences at the Portlaoise Jazz Festival, the group is delighted to present it to their local theatre. They return to where it all began: the intimate and charming Whale Theatre.
