Bringing the past into the very present moment, an ensemble of Cork’s adventurous improvising and early musicians explore the traditions of improvisation and experimentation that connect music of the past and music of the present. A never-to-be-repeated evening of music in the moment.
Presented in partnership with Cork Improvised Music Club, this music finds the links between the grooves of contemporary jazz and the steady Baroque basso continuo, the improvisatory flourishes of Baroque violinists with the on-the-spot composition of improvisers, and the song and dance roots that persist in music across time.Curated by Cork Improvised Music Club’s Dan Walsh and East Cork Early Music’s Caitríona O’Mahony
