Event Description
Dana Masters was born and raised in the deep south of the United States by family who ushered in and were deeply involved with the Civil Rights Movement of the 50’s and 60’s. Granddaughter of a celebrated Civil Rights Activist, Dana is a storyteller at heart and draws on a rich musical heritage. Dana weaves elements of soul, funk, and R&B into her explorations of the jazz and soul sound.
A seasoned performer, Dana has performed for the Pope, President Clinton and Secretary Clinton, Tony Blair as well as presented a major music documentary on BBC, My Name Is Ottilie. In addition to her growing solo career, Dana has toured and been a featured vocalist with Van Morrison for 7 years.
“Dana’s wide-ranging musical influences are evident through her own unique sound. Her vocal dexterity spaces the spectrum from deeply meditative to soaring, soulful resonant highs.” – Van Morrison
