The internationally award-winning Obradovic-Tixier Duo makes a tidal-wave splash performing around the globe. “The music”, says Croatian drummer Lada Obradovic, “is a painting of life, a vision of the world, a scream transcending the sounds of the universe.”
Even this preface can’t fully prepare us for the exhilarating journey of this program, in which Obradovic’s rhythmic changes come fast precise, and surprising — slowing down only to let French pianist David Tixier’s enchanting notes, in turn, wash the stage in vivid and bittersweet color. Reunited for their 2024 EP The Only Thing That Matters, this virtuosic pair has what it takes to win over every listener, from newcomers to committed jazz heads in this unmissable performance.
