Mila Maia (flute) and Kevin Shortall (7 strings guitar) will present a selection of some of their favorite Choro pieces in this special performance.
Known for its lively rhythms and syncopated melodies, Choro, or “Chorinho”, is known for its improvisational nature, allowing musicians to showcase their virtuosity and creativity. Often performed in informal settings, it serves as a social and cultural expression, celebrating Brazilian musical heritage. The duo will play some well-known pieces from Jacob do Bandolim, Pixinguinha, Chiquinha Gonzaga, Altamiro Carrilho and some original pieces as well.
