Vinicius de Moraes (1915-1980) was a renowned Brazilian poet, playwright, and diplomat, who played a pivotal role in shaping Brazilian music and literature. Best known for his contributions to the bossa nova genre, he collaborated with musicians such as Tom Jobim, producing iconic songs like "Garota de Ipanema." De Moraes' poetry often explored themes of love, nature, and the Brazilian identity, blending lyrical beauty with a deep emotional resonance. His charm and charisma extended beyond his artistry, making him a beloved figure in Brazilian culture, celebrated for his romantic spirit and passion for life.

Come prepared to sing along, dance, and celebrate CHORO MUSIC and the timeless music of VINICIUS DE MORAES, as we gather to honor his contribution to the world of music.

JAM SESSION GUIDELINES:

Generally musicians can play maximum 2 songs each in order to give space to other artists that might want to join the jam. Percussionists will be more free to join.

Venue Information - The International Bar

The International Bar is a traditional family-run irish pub with a long tradition of offering the best in entertainment. Whether it's the informal and unexpected encounters between the many travellers and tourists who gravitate here, the ad hoc "seisiun" when someone pulls out a bodhran and a fiddle of a Sunday, or the unique 7 night weekly comedy clubs upstairs, there's always something happening and it's always worth dropping in.
