Metropolis is a jazz fusion group founded in Dublin in the late 1970s. After packing several residencies for a couple of years, they took a forty year sabbatical before realising they enjoyed the music and each other’s company so much they wanted to do it again.
Metropolis is Garvan Gallagher on bass, Paul McAteer on drums, Paul Barrett on keyboards and Keith Donald on sax and clarinet. All four have composed music and songs for the band. Between them they have worked with the RTECO, U2, Sinead O’Connor, Van Morrison, Quincy Jones, The Dubliners, Luka Bloom, Louis Stewart, Moving Hearts, Mary Black and scores of others.
Arthur's is the nearest pub on the route to The Guinness Storehouse, one of the city's foremost tourist attractions. It is popular both with locals and tourists. Naturally it has the freshest pint of Guinness in all of Ireland.
