‘A Night with Orlando Molina’ - ORIGINAL MUSIC
A journey between Jazz and Latin American Music
Growing up in the hothouse of Latin rhythms and styles, and schooled academically in the art of jazz and improvisation, Orlando’s music appeals to all aesthetic boundaries and blends elements of contemporary Jazz with Latin American musical forms.
The Venezuelan Guitarist and Composer will be presenting a series of concerts as part of the agenda prior to the recording of his debut album as a soloist.
Accompanied by Chris Engel (Alto Sax), Leopoldo Osio (Piano), Cormac O’Brien (Double bass), and Mathew Jacobson (Drums), Orlando will be presenting a repertoire comprised of original compositions specially conceived for the quintet. Having won three international music scholarships and being the awardee of five Music Bursaries, Orlando has played and toured with internationally acclaimed musicians and Latin Grammy Winners such as Andreas Morricone, Gustavo
Dudamel, Linda Briceño, Miguel Siso, Phil Ware, Marie Séférian, David Pavón, Ronan Guilfoyle, the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, among many others. Orlando has also been invited to perform for important public figures such as Mr President Michael D Higgins (on three occasions), Conor McGregor, Wynton Marsalis, David Bisbal, and singer and composer Ruben Blades among many others.
