The Sofa Sessions at Billy Byrne's is back!
We’re delighted to announce that our regular Thursday night sessions in the wonderful back room at Billy Byrne's bar in Kilkenny will recommence on 28th October, with a very special tribute to our great friend and supporter Alan Murphy. Alan’s untimely passing has touched us all and we will feel his absence keenly in the front row of every concert.
So in memory of Alan, our first concert back will be a very special night with an all-star cast featuring some of Alan’s favourite Irish jazz artists, including Ireland’s greatest jazz guitarist Tommy Halferty and internationally renowned bassist and composer Ronan Guilfoyle. All the musicians on the night will be giving their time and their artistry to support charities nominated by Alan’s family, and we will be asking all our friends and supporters to come along and help us to celebrate Alan’s life and his love of music.

Billy Byrnes is a family run tradional Irish bar and first opened its doors in 1954. We are centrally located in Kilkenny City, just around the corner from the train and bus station.
