The Sofa Sessions at Billy Byrne's presents

PAUL DUNLEA QUARTET

9pm / No Cover Charge

Paul Dunlea - trombone
Cormac McCarthy - piano
Dan Bodwell - bass
Guy Rickarby - drums

The Sofa Sessions is delighted to welcome back leading Cork trombonist Paul Dunlea with a powerful band featuring some of Ireland's leading jazz talent.

When he's not on the road with Michael Bublé, Paul Dunlea leads his own bands, arranges for big bands, and runs the legendary sessions in Iran Lane in Cork. He returns to the Sofa Sessions after his triumphant appearance with Australian guitarist Ian Date in May this year. Anyone who saw that concert will remember the
high levels of invention and technique, not to mention musicality, that Paul displays on this less-than-usual instrument. With him this time, he brings rising Cork pianist Cormac Mccarthy and two of the most in-demand rhythm section players in Ireland, bassist Dan Bodwell and drummer Guy Rickarby.
