Monday Night Jazz Club Bridge St Bar Castlebar presents to you a very special guest drummer. Tom Dunne has been a formidable drummer on the Irish music scene for over 35years.
Starting as a pipe band drummer at the age of 6 he progressed onto kit by the age of 14. He studied jazz with the legendary John Wadham for 4 years and later a teacher at the Newpark Jazz improvisation course. He has played and recorded with countless great Jazz combos and musicians on the Irish and international scene. He has recorded and performed with Louis Stewart, Richie Buckley, Tommy Halferty, Myles Drennan, Dave Fleming, Kieran Wilde, Colette Cassidy, Sean Hession, Van Morrison, Georgie Fame to name but a few...
He has played at The Lincoln Centre NY, Park de Villette Paris, Cork Jazz festival with Celtic Jazz singer Melanie O'Rielly. His most recent recording is one he co-produced, arranged and performed on, ''Corazon The Music of Elanore McEvoy", jazz instrumental versions of her songs. He leads a power house Quintet on Tuesday nights at The Leeson Lounge, Dublin performing Hardbop and Bebop Jazz.
