The Kobe Trio are absolutely thrilled to be invited to take part in the Carrick Water Festival. The trio will also be joined by the incredible Ciaran Wilde on saxophone.
They came together through a love of improvised music, performing a blend of original, contemporary and classic instrumental jazz with an adventurous and passionate interplay. The atmospheric harmonies are contrasted with interlaced rhythmic grooves and collective improvisations. Combining the sounds scapes of Cinematic Orchestra with the syncopated rhythms of Phronesis and the jagged melodies of Thelonious Monk.
The trio will be joined by the very special guest Ciaran Wilde on saxophone/clarinet. Ciaran Wilde started playing professionally at 16. He has led the Dublin City Jazz Orchestra and his alto and clarinet can be found on various Irish movie soundtracks as well as various artists such as Louis Stewart, Brian Kennedy, Van Morrison, The Pogues, Sharon Shannon to name a few.
