Event Description
Every Monday, The Grand Social along with Marco Santorini host a live Jazz Jam where musicians from all walks of life can meet, mingle and collaborate in a relaxed, chilled out environment.
Under the watchful eyes of Santorini, musicians are in good hands. Marco started studying piano and music theory at a very young age. He then went on to study electric bass under Enrico De Biase at the age of 16. While in college he performed with many bands and styles ranging from Rock to Rhythm and Blues.
After moving to Rome he rediscovered Jazz and joined small and large ensembles in the famous Scuola Popolare di Musica di Testaccio. From there, Santorini set up The Jazz Lab. He set this up because he felt there was a lack of serious non-academic Jazz ensemble courses in Dublin. He also wanted to offer students the chance to meet and learn from many of the top Jazz musicians of the Dublin scene.
With many up and coming jazz-fusion acts moving into the lime-light including Snarky Puppy and BADBADNOTGOOD, this night gives musicians and non-musicians alike, the opportunity to experiment and enjoy different forms of jazz.
