STIAN LARSEN, b. 1983, is a professional jazz guitarist living and working out of Oslo. He graduated from the Norwegian State Academy of Music in 2009 with a bachelor degree mentored by the Norwegian jazz legend, Jon Eberson. He is now a well-rounded musician working as a freelance guitarist, composer and bandleader in all styles of jazz, pop and contemporary music.
Classically trained from the age of six he switched lanes and pursuit a career in jazz at the age of fifteen. He did his first solo tour of Norway in 2010 while also touring extensively both Scandinavia and Europe in different bands and settings. His record debut album kÖök with fellow guitarist Jørn Erik Ahlsen was released in 2012 and has since recorded several albums in the avant-garde genre. His trio KTHXBYE (ok, thanks bye) features british reed player Colin Webster and the latest recording Pet Zoo features fellow Norwegians Andre Roligheten, Adrian Myhr and drummer Tomas Järmyr.
He is joined by Chris Engel on Saxophone with Derek Whyte on bass and Matthew Jacobson on Drums
