LR Project presents: ESSENTIALLY BOSSA “A journey of the enthralling music from Brazil”
LR Project and Band will bring the rhythms of the most authentic Bossa Nova music, performing their major composers such as Tom Jobim, Vinicius de Moraes, João Gilberto, Carlos Lyra, Baden Powell and others.
Led by the two Brazilian musicians based in Ireland: Luana Matos and Robson Rocha, the LR Project has invited some of the the finest jazz and Latin musicians Ireland has on offer, with all their experience and talent to join them in this beautiful journey through the Classic and new beats of all that Bossa Nova from Brazil.
A vast repertoire can be expected since the classic “Girl from Ipanema” to beautiful pieces that we could call “the B-side” (O lado B) which are songs that has the same originality, beauty and rich arrangements but were not so “popular”.
Luana and Robson wanted to assemble great musicians and friends in a special show to perform the fusion of samba and jazz that naturally flows into their veins, and bring to Dublin their beautiful Brazilian culture of music, so well-known and respected in all over the world.

Luana Matos
A native of São Paulo, Luana has been singing from an early age, starting out at her local community church, and fronting various groups as a teenager. Initially working as a television producer in one of Brazil’s top T.V. stations, Sistema Brasileiro de Televisao, in 2010 Luana decided to leave her television career in order to pursue her love and passion for singing Brazilian Bossa Nova.�Since her arrival in Dublin, in 2012, she has been one of Dublin’s greatest exponents of authentic Brazilian music, playing a host of traditional Sambas and Bossa Novas in intimate settings with hugely respected Brazilian guitarist Robson Rocha, as well as lead singer of the acclaimed Bossa Nova Band Nova Collective

and big performances such as BBC Ireland, the President’s summer party, Button Factory, Sugar Club, Whelans, and etc.
Robson Rocha:
Having made a name for himself on the music scene in Santos, Brazil for almost 20 years - touring with The Mamas & the Papas and BJ Thomas as an opening act amongst others - Robson moved to Dublin in 2006 to study in the Newpark Music Centre. While here he has formed Brazilian quartet Choro Hy-Brasil, as well as performing with the likes of the Cuban All Stars, Emilie Conway, Joan Shields, and Gavin Friday amongst others.
He was also a member of Nova Collective band, interlacing his music partnership with Luana Matos
