Event Description

At just twenty years old, Michelangelo Scandroglio has been crowned the winner of the Umbria Jazz International Competition alongside being awarded by a jury chaired by Paolo Fresu. He is already considered one of the most promising talents on the Italian jazz scene.

He's one of the winners of the Riga International Jazz Bass Competition 2018. He received the Italian prize Tomorrow’s Jazz as one of the best Italian young musicians by Veneto Jazz.

In 2019 he was awarded by Paolo Fresu of the first prize of the Umbria Jazz Competition. In 2021 he received the Top Jazz of Musica Jazz as one of the best Italian young talent of the year. In the same year he won the Getxo International Jazz Competition in Spain

In The Eyes of the Whale
It's his first album as a leader released on Auand Records. It features an international line-up of renowned musicians such as: Alessandro Lanzoni on piano, Peter Wilson on guitar, Bernardo Guerra on drums, Hermon Mehari on trumpet, Michele Tino on sax and as a very special guest the international jazz star Logan Richardson.

Venue Information - Dolan's Pub

Dolans pub is the hub of the complex, a traditional Irish bar with Irish music seven nights a week all year round. It has become a cultural attraction and this year received the IMRO award for best Live Music venue in Ireland. The bar is open 12pm daily for lunch and 10am on weekends and public holidays for breakfast.
