The International Jazz Day session at Lillies Cocktail Bar promises an exciting night of live music and collaboration, hosted by Sligo Jazz Project. Headlining the evening is 19-year-old pianist and composer Rory Conneally, a rising star and recent recipient of the Young Irish Jazz Musician Bursary. Rory’s remarkable journey continues with his latest achievement, a full tuition scholarship to the renowned Berklee College of Music, marking him as one of the most exciting young talents to emerge from Sligo in recent years.
Joining Rory on stage will be some of Sligo’s finest young musicians, including Fraser Gaine on saxophone and Sam Purcell on drums, alongside guest appearances on bass. The session will embrace the true spirit of jazz with an open jam format, inviting singers and instrumentalists to take part and share the stage. It’s set to be a vibrant celebration of both local talent and the global jazz tradition.
