Event Description
When Miles Davis and John Coltrane shared the bandstand, they changed the trajectory of American music forever. This October, the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival welcomes two contemporary pioneers who carry that very same revolutionary spirit.
From St. Louis, MO Keyon Harrold, hailed as “the future of the trumpet,” brings the same raw emotional vulnerability and soaring technical brilliance that made him the choice trumpet voice for the Miles Ahead biopic and is a featured artist in the Miles Electric Band.
Beside him stands Marcus Strickland, a saxophonist and composer renowned for bridging the gap between classic hard-bop lyricism and modern beat culture.
This isn’t a museum piece or a simple nostalgia trip; it is an interrogation and celebration of jazz’s ultimate partnership, channelled through the lens of 21st-century masters.
