Event Description

This annual gig on the Saturday and Sunday afternoons of the Jazz festival has become one of the most sought after of the festival. Paul Dunlea assembles the best of all visiting Jazz musicians as well as some of the best national and regional improvisors around. Previous years have seen Grammy winners, festival headliners and musicians that would normally play sold out stadiums join Dunlea for this now legendary session.

It says quintet – but there’ll be a whole host of musicians on this one as always .

Although at home in a variety of musical styles – Trombonist/Composer/Arranger – Paul Dunlea concentrates primarily on Jazz and Improvisation. This has furthered his reputation as one of Ireland’s most in demand musicians.

Dunlea has performed/toured/recorded with the likes of Michael Bublé, Cassandra Wilson, RAYE, Frankie Valli, Liam O’Maonlaoi, Mick Flannery, Richard Reed Parry (Arcade Fire), Bryce Dressner (The National), Lewis Nash, Peter Washington, Billy Drummond, David O’ Rourke’s O’ Rourkestra, Sachal Vasandani, John Clayton, RTE Concert Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, The Dublin City Jazz Orchestra, The New Irish Jazz Orchestra, Bansangu Orchestra, The Syd Lawrence Orchestra & The Hothouse Big Band.

This is all a part of Cork Heritage Pubs City-Wide Jazz Festival Club 2026, Corks Best Venues & Corks Best Free Gigs
