Green Room Jazz - Karen Underwood performs at Cork Opera House Saturday 29th October 3pm
Love me or leave me is coming to the Halfmoon Theatre this year for the Cork Guinness Jazz Festival. It’s all about love -the seeking, finding, losing, and rekindling - or not.
“Love is a funny thing. If you believe in love and all the ups and downs that go with it, this is for you. Love is never static, but constantly evolving,” says Cork’s adopted citizen, Karen Underwood.
Karen will mesmerise you with both power notes and dulcet tone while sharing her life and love experiences through her heartfelt stories. You will laugh and be whipped up in emotion. If you love jazz, pop and soul music this a concert where you feel something while witnessing outstanding performances from Karen and her band then this is the ticket you should book for this year’s Guinness Jazz Festival.
Karen will bring the music of her favourites Nina Simone, Ester Phillips, Sarah Vaughan, Dinah Washington and many more.
She is joined by her friends. John O’Brien, keys, Tomas Gall, percussion and Dave Whitla, bass.
