Bina Coquet:
The Brazilian guitarrist and composer has stood out with mix of Gypsy Jazz and the roots of Brazilian music, invited by guitarist Robin Nolan participated with his trio at Django Amsterdam Gypsy jazz festival 2017, also Django Northwest fest 2018 and recently alongside the Romanian virtuoso violin based in Brazil, Florian Cristea at the Django Fest Mill Valley 2019
Florian Cristea:
The Romanian violinist Florian Cristea was born in Buzau in 1967 and had his first musical teachings with his father, Gica Cristea. He attended a music school until 1983, when he entered the Conservatory of Bucharest and began to win competitions, such as the 1st Prize in the National Competition of Music of Bucharest. In 1985, he became a pupil of Ion Voicu and after 1990, he’s participated in several Romanian orchestras and toured Germany, Switzerland, France, the United States, Finland and Turkey.
He has been living in Brazil for 21 years, since he was invited by the brazilian conductor Claudio Cruz to play with the OSESP (São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra). He has played with different orchestras in Europe. Although he had an academic background, Florian has been playing jazz for years. For him is perfectly natural to transit between both styles with all the experience that he has accumulated in decades of dedication to the violin.
Samuel Farthing:
“Samuel Farthing is a 15 year-old jazz swing guitarist inspired by the legendary French manouche guitarist Django Reinhardt.
Samuel lives in a Maryland suburb within the Baltimore/Washington corridor. He started playing guitar at age 10 and stumbled into gypsy jazz at age 13. Since then, it has been his passion and inspiration. Sam’s talent far exceeds his number of years playing. He is considered one of the finest young up-and-coming gypsy jazz guitarists in the world…

It is operated by Donegal County Council and receives annual funding from the Arts Council and Letterkenny Town Council.
