There are currently only two members of Jazz Ireland but we hope to expand in the future to include more members and grow the services that we provide. We act as an independent organisation within the Irish jazz community promoting events all over Ireland as well as jazz news and information through our blog.

Red is the founder and creator of Jazz Ireland, he actively maintains and develops the Jazz Ireland website and is very active on its social networking profiles. Red has been involved within the jazz community for many years; he built and maintained the JJ Smyths website for over 12 years and sees Jazz Ireland as a natural progression from that project.

Donald Helme

Donald Helme

Donald presented Jazz Alley, Ireland’s number one jazz show, on RTE Lyric FM from the station’s first week on air until the end of 2015. Donald is now the editor of the Jazz Ireland blog and presenter of The Hot Box, a dedicated podcast setting Irish Jazz in a worldwide context.
