Mullingar is getting ready to swing, groove, and celebrate as the very first Mullingar Blues and Jazz Festival takes place this weekend, September 26th–28th, 2025. For three days, the town will be filled with the soulful sounds of blues and jazz, uniting musicians, audiences, and locals in a celebration of music, community, and culture right in the heart of Westmeath.
The driving force behind the festival is Raimonda Masiulytė-Ramchurn, a professional jazz singer and creative powerhouse who has worked tirelessly to bring this new event to life.
“I started this festival because I believe Mullingar deserves a place on the map for blues and jazz, and because I wanted to create something the whole town can be proud of. My hope is that this will grow into an annual highlight and a visible part of Mullingar’s cultural life,” says Raimonda.
A Weekend of Live Music Across Mullingar
This inaugural edition promises an exciting mix of local talent and visiting artists, performing in venues throughout the town. Highlights include:
- Kiruu with BlastaBrass at Stables
- Dorota Konchevska with her boundary-pushing electronic jazz project
- Renowned bluesman Ben Prevo
- Plus many more talented acts joining the line-up
Performances will take place across Cuige Studios, Mullingar Arts Centre, Grace Food & Culture restaurant, and Old News coffee shop, creating a festival atmosphere where music and community meet.
Planting the Seeds for the Future
While the festival begins on a modest scale this year, the vision is clear: to establish a vibrant annual event that brings people together and strengthens Mullingar’s cultural life. It’s an open invitation to locals and visitors alike to join in and support a new tradition that celebrates music and community spirit.
