Event Description
The Teen Spirit Jazz Hub welcomes young musicians aged 13-18 to develop performance skills and explore jazz repertoire, improvisation and technique. The ensemble is led by Diarmuid Lally and is delivered in partnership with Riverbank Arts Centre, participants rehearse monthly in a state-of-the-art theatre space and benefit from the valuable insights of Riverbank’s creative team.
In 2025, Row E – a jazz ensemble formed through the programme – was thrilled to perform as part of the Kildare Jazz Festival and the two new ensembles from the Hub are exited to be invited back to perform in 2026. Come along and hear the next generation of Kildare Jazz superstars at the start of their careers!!!
Music Generation Kildare is managed locally by Kildare Local Music Education Partnership, led by Kildare and Wicklow Education and Training Board in partnership with Kildare County Council.
Ireland’s national music education programme is initiated by Music Network, co-funded by U2, The Ireland Funds, and the Department of Education, with local support from KWETB and Kildare County Council.
Kildare Jazz Festival 2026 takes place from Friday 27-Sunday 29 March.
Kildare Jazz Festival is funded by The Arts Council and supported by RTÉ Supporting the Arts, Kildare County Council Arts Service and Riverbank Arts Centre.
