Melanie O'Reilly Jim Doherty and Dave Fleming - Three of Ireland's greatest exponents of The Great American Songbook
 

Jazz On A Sunday Afternoon is the perfect Jazz trio in the perfect venue. The coming together of three great artists to deliver a celebration of the songs from The Great American Songbook made popular by the legendary jazz singers of Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Anita O Day, Mel Torme, Rosemary Clooney, Nat King Cole, Nina Simone. Add to the mix contemporary artists like Diana Krall and Michael Buble and you have a wonderful program of Jazz presented by three great artists.

All three hail from Dublin and re-unite to bring you great music and a warm ambiance for a Sunday afternoon in June!

- Melanie O'Reilly, originally from Mt. Merrion Dublin, who has made her base in Wexford, is an international figure in the world of vocal jazz, having performed in venues including The Lincoln Center NY, the Edinburgh International Festival, the National Concert Hall Dublin, the Cork Jazz Festival, the Black Cat Jazz Club in San Francisco. She is currently Jazz Artist in Residence 2021/22 at the Wexford Arts Centre and recently joined the California's jazz station KCSM.org as radio host with her award -winning radio show Jazz on the Bay. Melanie has recently graduated with a Masters MFA in performance at the American College Dublin awarded with Masters Student of the Year

- Jim Doherty is a legend in Ireland as a jazz pianist and composer. Based in the Southside, he is responsible for many of the more familiar RTÉ title tunes over the past number of decades and was musical director of the Late Late Show for many years. He has been leading trios, quartets, small groups & big bands for over 50 years and has backed some of the most famous luminaries of the music scene worldwide. With his usual flair, attention to detail and humour , this evening will be sparkling with music and wit!
 

- Dave Fleming, is a highly acclaimed statesman of the Irish jazz scene as a jazz Bassist, he has played with many of the Irish and international jazz stars including Lynne Arriale, Scott Hamilton, Art Farmer, Joe Pass, Billy Eckstine and Van Morrison..... and he is Jim's long time collaborator!
